As pressure to increase the efficiency of a-c motors continues, refinements in motor design appear inevitable. As Engineering Editor Richard Nailen points out, these refinements are likely to come in the form of improved materials, manufacturing methods, and testing. Apart from these changes, though, we shouldn’t expect changes in motor fundamentals. Every issue of Electrical Apparatus features reliable technical material. For summaries of previous or upcoming technical articles check out the Barks Publications Web site.
