Deaths Martin Filchock, cartoonist who drew EA’s ‘Cy,’ , died Sept. 5 at the age of 100. Martin was a prolific cartoonist who honed his craft during the post-World War II golden age of comic books. He had long said he was determined to be “the world’s oldest working cartoonist,” and he achieved that goal shortly before suffering a stroke last year. He drew the Electrical Apparatus cartoon strip “Cy’s Super Service” from 2004 until 2011. His cartoons were among the best read features of our magazine.
